Life’s Too Short for Boring Shirts
There are enough serious things in life.
Mortgages. Fuel prices. Bosses. People who drive below the speed limit.
Your T-shirt doesn’t need to be one of them.
At The Witty Optimist, we’ve always believed the humble shirt has been seriously underutilized. Sure, it can cover your nipples and stop you getting kicked out of the pub — both admirable qualities — but it can also make somebody laugh.
And we reckon that’s much more useful.
Your Shirt Can Do the Talking
Some people are naturally outgoing.
Others would rather chew their own arm off than make small talk.
That's where your shirt comes in.
Wear something funny and suddenly the bloke standing next to you is laughing. Someone across the bar points at your shirt. The person behind you at Bunnings does a double take.
Congrats.
You’ve socialized without actually having to socialize.
Find Your People
There’s also something strangely effective about wearing your sense of humour.
Someone reads your shirt and laughs?
Potential mate.
Someone reads it and looks horrified?
Probably wasn't going to work out anyway.
We call that wearable quality control.
Our philosophy has always been pretty simple: be yourself, have a laugh and don't spend too much time worrying about being everyone's cup of tea.
Because nobody is.
The World Could Use More Laughs
We started The Witty Optimist because we love laughing — at ourselves, at each other and at the ridiculousness of everyday life.
We're just a couple of Aussies trying to make people laugh.
Sometimes that's with a clever pun.
Sometimes it's a terrible dad joke.
And sometimes it's something that makes one person snort with laughter while the person beside them mutters:
"You can't wear that."
Challenge accepted.
So next time you're getting dressed, remember:
You could wear something boring.
Or you could give someone a laugh.
Wear the humour. Find your people. Be a Witty Optimist.
